The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Golden State Warriors 111-98 on Wednesday night, but the festivities did not end with the final buzzer.
According to the Orange County Register, Warriors’ center Jermaine O’Neal confronted the Clippers’ Blake Griffin outside the Clippers locker room after the game.
The report goes on to say that “the players had a heated discussion that didn’t become physical and ended with a handshake.”
Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, however, was able to capture part of what was said between the two (and try not to laugh):
Griffin to O’Neal: “Why you want to walk up on me? Leave that (stuff) on the court.” O’Neal to Blake: “I’m a monster off the court.”

Yes, we know that O’Neal is indeed a monster off the court:
It is unknown what beef O’Neal had with Griffin, but O’Neal did pick up a technical during the game when he had some words for Griffin. Griffin, for his part, refused to comment.
Whatever the reason may be, Griffin seems to be one of the more disliked players in the NBA. Add in the fact that this was a game between two rivals in the Warriors and Clippers and that O’Neal, an 18-year veteran, is likely playing in his final season and giving it his all, and sometimes blood will boil over.
One thing’s for sure: this is not the first extracurricular incident between these two teams, and it will certainly not be the last.
