I Don’t Have The Golden Ticket…..

So with the lottery all set and done, the Warriors failed to move in the draft. The Clippers got the lucky draw and will pick first in this year’s draft. Sources say that they will take Blake Griffin as the Number 1 pick. I’ve read somewhere that new GM Riley wants to take a look at guys that have played four years of college ball first. Well that sounds encouraging, but is there a 4 year college guy that will fill our need? I’m not too sure. With the number 7 seed, it is unlikely that Ricky Rubio from Spain will still be available. Mock drafts have him going second. He would have fit in nicely, since we do need another PG.  So from the rest of the crop, there is Ty Lawson from UNC, Stephen Curry from Davidson, Darren Collison from UCLA, just to name a few. None of these guys I think have the ability to play uptempo, which is the Warrior’s style, but maybe one of them will surprise me. If anything, I hope the new GM will have some kind of influence on the draft pick and not just a puppet for Nellie and Co.
