Warriors Hope to Right Ship In Sacramento

Following a heartbreaking loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors make the trip north to Sacramento to face the 4-10 Kings.  Coached by former Warriors’ assistant Mike Malone, the Kings have struggled on both offense and defensive, ranking 20th and 25th in offensive and defensive rating respectively.  While Isaiah Thomas and Demarcus Cousins are both having impressive offensive seasons, the Kings simply do not have the defensively talented roster.  Cousins is often out of position and generally too slow to recover, crippling Sacramento’s interior defense, while Greivis Vasquez, Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Thornton, and even Ben McLemore have struggled to contain their men on the perimeter.

Despite their recent struggles, the Warriors should not have much trouble dispatching Sacramento.  Of course, their is variation in any NBA game, and the Warriors could very easily suffer another disparaging loss.  Demarcus Cousins can force Andrew Bogut into foul trouble, and the Warriors’ perimeter defense may struggle with the speedy Isaiah Thomas.  The Warriors have vastly outperformed Sacramento both offensively and defensively this season, and though injuries have taken a toll, the Warriors are still a superior team.
