Stephen Curry Includes His Dad On List Of Best Shooters Ever

As we’ve learned this offseason, Stephen Curry has very high self-confidence and belief in himself, so it’s no surprise who’s on his lists of the top five shooters currently in the NBA and the top five shooters ever.

Speaking in an interview with Sports Illustrated, Curry was asked to name his five best shooters in the NBA, and he came up with himself, Klay Thompson, Kyle Korver, Steve Novak, and Ray Allen.

His top five shooters of all-time, however, might surprise you: Reggie Miller, Dell Curry (yes, Steph’s father), Stephen Curry himself, Steve Kerr, and Ray Allen.

Three of those answers may not be objective, considering that one his himself, and the other two are his father and his current head coach. While Dell Curry and Kerr were both excellent shooters, I don’t know many people who would rank them among the top shooters of all-time.

But that just speaks to Curry’s confidence and trust in people around him. Yes, this was just a light-hearted interview, but you can tell that he clearly believes that he and his teammates are the best. That’s why he clamored for the Warriors to keep Thompson instead of trading him for Kevin Love.

Speaking of Curry and Thompson, they have a couple of busy weeks ahead of them, as Team USA opens up in the FIBA World Cup on Aug. 30. Assuming they make it to the final, they will be in Spain through Sep. 14. Let’s hope that Curry and Thompson not only help bring home the gold, but also stay healthy and return to Oakland ready for the new season.
