Golden State Warriors: Andre Iguodala's Expectations

Andre Iguodala, arguably the biggest offseason free agent signing in the history of the Golden State Warriors, is saying all the right things this preseason. Iguodala is one of the only free agents in recent history, possibly in all histroy,  to sign with the Warriors for less money than he could have gotten elsewhere. That gesture itself, that a player would give up added security and wealth for the specific culture and players is a gesture that the Dubs have never been on the receiving end of. That has already made him a fan favorite among Warriors’ fans.

Dre has continued to build on that admiration by saying everything that the fanbase wants to hear. His most recent interview came with CSN Bay Area. The answer i found most impressive was regarding preseason rankings and win predictions, specifically the apparent lack of attention towards the Warriors in that regard. He had this to say about those things

“No I did not. I have really high expectations for us but I won’t say too much about wins. I’d rather fly under the radar which seems to be the case with a lot of rankings, preseason rankings, and backcourt rankings, things like that. We’re gonna be focused throughout training camp and we’re setting the bar high for ourselves.”

The quote reveals that Iguodala is both humble and a hard worker. It also reveals that Dre has a bit of media savvy, as he would work from the bottom up rather than constantly face the pressure of high expectations. Iguodala’s goal for this season is to quietly put together at least a 50 win season.
