NBA Playoffs: Golden State Warriors To Face Clippers In First Round

It’s official: the Golden State Warriors will play the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the postseason, which begins on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.

This was confirmed with the Thunder beating the Pistons 112-111 tonight, clinching the second seed and locking the Clippers into the third seed.

The Warriors own the sixth seed in the West, their second consecutive season finishing in sixth in the conference.

Here is the schedule and broadcast info for Games 1-4, with Games 5-7 TBD if necessary:

Game 1: Sat. 4/19 GSW @ LAC 12:30pm ABC

Game 2: Mon. 4/21 GSW @ LAC 7:30pm TNT

Game 3: Thu. 4/26 LAC @ GSW 7:30pm TNT

Game 4: Sun 4/27 LAC @ GSW12:30pm ABC

The fact that two games will be broadcast on ABC show that the general consensus across the nation is that this is a marquee matchup, arguably the best first round matchup. These are two teams that do not like each other, and the games are extremely competitive — the teams have split four games during the regular season.

There have been no shortage of controversy surrounding these two clubs this season, from on-court fights to refusing to take part in chapel together before games.

To add fuel to the fire, we’ll leave you with what Klay Thompson had to say about Blake Griffin today on Bay Area radio:

He flairs his arm around so you know you might catch a random elbow or something that doesn’t you know rub off too well on guys. He’s kind of like a bull in a china shop, kind of out of control sometimes. And then you do just see him flop sometimes like how can a guy that big and strong flop that much.

Yep, this is going to be fun.
