Could Stephen Curry Return Home And Play In Charlotte?

I’m coming homeI’m coming home

Words that mean so much in so many ways to so many people. Words that apparently meant a lot to LeBron James, so much so that Skylar Grey actually performed her smash song for him live.

What do those same words mean for Warriors start point guard Stephen Curry? Well, while on the Doug Gottlieb (14:50 time mark) Show, Gottlieb asked:

LeBron went home to Cleveland, I know you were actually born in Akron. Some people know that, but I don’t know if you would ever go home there. You’re like a hardcore Panthers fan. Charlotte’s home. Watching what Lebron is doing, have you guys talked, would that be something that would be cool to do?

Curry answered:

I’ve always had thoughts about playing at home, what it would be like, you know. My dad played there for 10 years, and people around the Greater Charlotte area in North Carolina have done a lot for my family growing up, so you always think about it.

Of course, these are all just politically correct things to say. However, Charlotte can come with an exorbitant amount cash, and a solid roster. I personally just can’t see Curry leaving the Bay Area just to play back at “home”.

Curry also stated:

Right now I feel like I’ve got three years left on my deal, so this isn’t going to be an issue for me for a while. I love the Bay Area and where we are as a team trying to win a championship, and that’s what it’s all about. Of course everybody dreams about or thinks about what it’s going to be like to play at home. Obviously if that opportunity comes along it’s a different discussion.

Things can change, and Curry will be 29 years old when his current contract is up. Michael Jordan will have the cash, and who knows, he may will have built a solid team by the time Curry is ready to make a decision.

We live in a fast paced world today. Heck, three years ago, I couldn’t even imagine Lebron James going back to Cleveland. Kevin Love looks to be headed to Cleveland, along with Ray Allen possibly. Is this some type of crazy time warp? The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers are still not contenders!

Nobody knows what will unfold next, and hopefully these Curry quotes aren’t a foreshadowing.
