When Team USA went to practice at West Point on Monday, Army point guard Kelsey Minato took the opportunity to challenge Warriors’ guard Stephen Curry to a three-point shooting contest.
They played to 15, and although Curry won, Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski gave Minato the victory because he was watching Curry’s feet and apparently Steph stepped over the line five times.
It was all in good nature, though, and you can check it out here:
Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area compiled a list of the Warriors’ injured players, and it’s a little worrisome considering the number of key contributors recovering from injury this offseason.
Shaun Livingston, Andrew Bogut, David Lee, Andre Iguodala, Festus Ezeli, Nemanja Nedovic, and Ognjen Kuzmic all either were or are on the shelf. Livingston looks like the lone player outside of Nedovic and Kuzmic who will miss training camp; he underwent arthroscopic surgery last week on his toe.
The Warriors hope they can keep Bogut and Ezeli, their top two centers on the depth chart, healthy. Bogut missed the playoffs last season and Ezeli missed the entire season.
Then, there’s Iguodala, who had an ongoing issue with tendonitis during the latter part of the season, and didn’t look like himself at times. If he can be at 100 percent, the Warriors will be that much dangerous as a team.
