Preview of San Antonio Spurs (49-16) @ Golden State Warriors (23-42)

In an ending fitting to the season, the Warriors look to lose. And I say this with all my heart. If the Warriors lose, they will be guaranteed tied with New Jersey and Toronto for seventh place. New Jersey and Toronto square off tonight. The league would then have a drawing on who would finish where to determine draft selections. And if the Warriors finish in bottom seventh, they would be able to keep their pick from Utah and be guarantee a high lottery pick in this deep draft that is coming up.

For San Antonio, this is just another game before the real season begins. And most likely, like last game, their stars will either not be there at all or be on the bench cheering their teammates on. Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobilli, and their captain coach Gregg Popovich will all be missing this evening. They need a win against the Warriors and a loss by the Chicago Bulls to secure the overall number one seed and home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Coming into tonight, the Spurs have a 14 game winning streak against the Warriors, including the last meeting on April 16th, 120-99 in favor of the Spurs.

Tip off tip starts at 7:30 pm PST.
